Lake Champlain Chocolates of Burlington, Vt. is recalling chocolate bars shipped to retailers in two-dozen states including Texas.

The peppermint bars recipe is an excellent dessert for the holidays. Start with a chocolate crumb crust layer, followed by a layer of chocolate ganache, and then topped with a layer of fluffy peppermint cream! These bars can be served frozen or at room temperature.

Kids of all ages love these. Perfect for summertime, no baking for this recipe. Although this recipe states to use a 15x10 pan, I have made this in a 13x9 pan, the bars will be thicker though. Yield is for a 15x10-inch pan. -- posted by KITTENCAL

About 3 hours before serving or early in day: Line 12" by 8" baking pan with waxed paper. In large bowl, mix nuts and rice cereal. In heavy 2-quart saucepan over low heat, heat chocolate squares, milk, and butter, stirring frequently, until melted and smooth. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla extract. Pour chocolate mixture over nut mixture; stir to mix well. Press nut mixture evenly into bottom of pan. Refrigerate to set chocolate, about 1 hour. Prepare Chocolate Glaze. Then remove chocolate-walnut loaf from pan; remove waxed paper. Pour Chocolate Glaze over loaf. With metal spatula, quickly and evenly spread glaze over loaf. Refrigerate until glaze is set, about 1 hour. Cut loaf lengthwise into 2 strips. Cut each strip crosswise into 18 bars. About 105 calories each. CHOCOLATE GLAZE: In 1-quart saucepan over low heat, heat chocolate, butter, corn syrup and salt, stirring constantly, until melted and smooth.

These unique bars are low on sugar and high on yum, not to mention the great contrast in flavors and textures. Combine and sift flour, cinnamon, cloves, allspice, baking soda and salt. Add to egg mixture alternately with honey or molasses. Chop and add mixed citron, candied lemon, orange, pineapple and nuts. Spread dough with spatula into greased pans. Bake 20 minutes. When cool, ice with favorite icing or chocolate butter icing.

This is chocolate and sugar overload! (Adapted from Betty Crocker recipe) The crispy chocolate peanut butter top on this tastes like peanut butter cups and crunchy rice chocolate bars and paired with the creamy vanilla frosting center and brownie bottom it's very rich! These are different than the other ones posted on here. We love these better than the "actual" real thing! The topping is traditionally a milk chocolate one but semi-sweet chocolate is fine. You can certainly make these in a 9 by 13 inch pan for slightly thinner cookie bottoms (more like the chocolate bar) and a less thick coating of caramel (but you will probably need to use more milk chocolate). These are best cut in bars/fingers and chilled. I am guessing at the prep time. -- posted by MarieAlice

Heat oven to 350. Coat 13X9 inch baking pan with cooking spray. Melt in bowl over simmering water in saucepan, unsweetened chocolate and butter. Stir until smooth. Mix together in small bowl: sugar and eggs. Add to chocolate-butter mixture. Stir in vanilla. Stir in flour mixture until combined, then add macadamia nuts and 3/4 cup of the white chocolate baking pieces. Spread evenly in prepared pan. Sprinkle the remaining 3/4 cup white chocolate baking pieces over top. Bake 20-25 minutes or until firm and white chips are lightly colored. Cool in pan.
